We Are Scientists were founded almost two decades ago in Berkley, California. Keith Murray and Chris Cain had met each other at the end of the 90s in California's college. When they finished their studies, they formed the band, which was a trio for a time. The move to Brooklyn, New York took place before We Are Scientists started working on their first album. The second album, "With Love And Squalor", with its smart guitar pop, brought the band a lot of attention in 2006. We Are Scientists have been releasing music ever since - most recently the sixth album "Megaplex". Six albums and not a bit tired, nice that We Are Scientists never gave up. It's also nice that We Are Scientists reinvent their powerpop again and again, if necessary with a little synths in the mix. Without a synthesizer it doesn't really work these days, and Keith Murray and Chris Cain don't want to close themselves to the zeitgeist either. They wouldn't have to do that, but it's not wrong either, and at least the band had synths since their second album, "Brain Thrust Mastery".
