10 Years of Groove Now Stars & Friends: Kid Andersens Greaseland All-Star Revue featuring Lisa Andersen (USA) Surely another unforgettable highlight of the 10th Anniversary concerts of Groove Now in 2020, where friends and stars will perform together. Kid Anderson, possibly the best Blues guitar player around, will present a concept that includes the greatest hits of Soul, Blues, and Funk music a project never before presented in Europe which includes the great voice of his wife Lisa. Kid Andersen might well be called a genius. As member of Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, he has rendered countless people speechless, wondering how he can do what he does with the six strings. He is for sure one of the best guitar players in every genre and a guitar hero when it comes to Blues and Soul. And for a number of years, Kid has also been a producer in high-demand of great Blues and Soul musicians in his San Jose, California studio, Greaseland. Because of his close relationship with Groove Now, they have together conceived a project that includes not only his wife American Idol finalist Lisa Leuschner, who is a great singer in her own right but also greats like Jim Pugh (organ, keyboards), Derek Martin (drums), Jerry Jemmott (bass), and Blues veteran and singer John Boyd. Together they will perform Greatest Hits of Soul, Blues, and Funk. In June 2019, Kid and Lisa will record another album together that follows Greatest Hits, which was release some years ago. Kid was born January 15, 1980, in Herre, Norway. By the age of 11, he had gained the attention of Norwegian Blues guitar teacher, Morten Omlid, who steered him towards traditional Blues music. In 2001, at the age of 21, Andersen moved to the U.S. where he joined Blues frontman Terry Hancks band, and quickly became a figure on the West Coast Blues scene. Andersen later played in Charlie Musselwhites band and got a Blues Music Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album, for Delta Hardware. Then, when Little Charlie retired from touring, Andersen took his place as guitarist in the Nightcats, and the new name of Rick Estrin & The Nightcats was formed. Andersen has also done extensive touring with Elvin Bishop. In 2013, Andersen was nominated for a Blues Music Award in the 'Gibson Guitar' category. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, he was nominated for a Blues Music Award in the 'Best Instrumentalist Guitar' category. For the past 5 years, Kid Andersen has also gained a solid reputation as a musical producer at his own recording facility, "Greaseland Studio", where he produced the last two albums of Rick Estrin & The Nightcats. In 2017, he also produced several albums including that of Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, and of Eddie Boyd. In 2019, production foresees again Nick Moss as well as Curtis Salgado and others.
