A rendezvous of hand-picked stars of the classical music scene: Yuja Wang (piano), Thomas Hampson (baritone), Ray Chen (violin), Maximilian Hornung (cello) and others.
She is "thrilling to watch and listen to" and "an explosive piano virtuoso": Yuja Wang, who is causing a furore in concert halls and feuilletons for several years now. And he is "America's leading baritone", "indecently gifted": Thomas Hampson. But it's not just these two stars who join the Bürgenstock Festival. Ray Chen and Roberto González-Monjas are both fantastic violinists and Maximilian Hornung one of the most interesting young cellists of our time. The hand-picked ensemble is led and complemented by the artistic directors of the festival, Andreas Ottensamer (clarinet) and José Gallardo (piano). The theme of this unusual festival, which explores the boundaries between entertaining music and serious music, is "Long time ago".
The programme, which will be announced during the concert, includes works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Darius Milhaud, George Gershwin, Cole Porter and others.
Performers: Yuja Wang, piano Thomas Hampson, baritone Ray Chen, violin Roberto González-Monjas, violin Maximilian Hornung, cello Andreas Ottensamer, clarinet José Gallardo, piano
