Andrej Hermlin - Piano Roland Neffe - Vibraphone Michael Wirth - Drums
The Andreas Hofschneider Quartet, founded in 2009, plays in the tradition of the famous Benny Goodman Quartet of the 30s. The repertoire contains songs which are based on the classical recordings from the USA of the Swing era. The timbre plays an essential role for the AHQ: the instruments are mostly from the 1930s and the musicians have many years of playing experience in authentic stylistics. Thus it follows that the quartet is also in demand on the international swing dance scene.
Andreas Hofschneider, clarinettist and founder of his AHQ, has transcribed the songs of the legendary Benny Goodman Quartet from historical recordings in order to bring this unique sound experience to the stage - with success: in the meantime the AHQ belongs to one of the most sought-after dance bands in the international swing dance scene. Hofschneider already made a name for himself in the 1990s when he gave concerts with Peanuts Hucko, Bobby Burgess and Champion Jack Dupree.
